Expect to see many of the local wildlife on your beach drive and stand up paddle experience with many turtles often seen in the clear shallows of the pools and sand bars. Rays, bottlenose dolphins, sea birds, whales (in season), soldier crabs in their thousands are all frequent here.
Pelican Bay is another ideal flat water location to learn to stand up paddle. This pristine location is protected from the open ocean by Fraser Island and Inskip Point an important mangrove habitat for many local wildlife. A paddle along this very rich plant diversity will often discover turtles resting or feeding, rays, mud crabs, fish, sea birds, dugongs and sometimes the Australian Humpback Dolphin.
